Medicines will go out of date and the dosage may well vary depending on what is wrong. IMO if you are making a first aid kit one of the most valuable things to include is a wedge of cash to pay for vets bills, plus contact numbers for your local small animal vets.
Hmm an interesting topic to discuss!I personally will be making a small first aid kit for each pet I have currently as soon as possible,but it's definitely something to have.Perhaps an informational article of sorts dedicated to what you should and should not put in a kit would help new hamster owners?
It's probably worth keeping a few things like vitamins & probiotics but most things will go out of date before you even realise it but there are some things it's good to have in your kit.

That was what I meant, but didn't word it well. I have things for my birds like nail clippers and styptic (not sure if that is spelt right) pencil to stop bleeding, various size syringes for giving vitamins, medicine etc. A set of weighing scales to monitor weight.
