My little boy has a Swollen Bottom :(
Has any one else's male hammy had a swollen ball/or balls. One side is allot larger and a little redder than it was yesterday.. I'm really worried because all Im reading pertaining to this is tumors, or bad infections! He's done pics not really good angles though he wouldn't sit still.

I wouldn`t worry to be honest as the balls on a male hamster can become large especially if the atmosphere is warm. What`s the weather like where you are and is the house hot? They do shrink down but can swell when the hamster is warm.

Re: My little boy has a Swollen Bottom :(
They are very mobile and can be withdrawn in into the abdomen. Are those even going back up ILMH? Is the room very warm at all or is he just out a warm nest and relaxed?
I would try taking him in to a cooler place first to see if he can retract them and if not and they feel hot and swollen he is going to need a vet. Orchititis is an infection of the testicles and it is very painful but they really do swell with this and they cannot retract them. It responds well to antibiotics normally.
In the pics it doesn't look like that just now I don't think but photos are not a good way of diagnosing anything and I haven't examined him nor am I a vet so you need to watch him carefully. They also tend to act out of character and are ill and lethargic with orchiditis.

I hope everything goes well at the vets and just a few days anti biotic do the trick.
Bless him.

He's fine! The temperature change in my house made one of his balls come out and he left it out and it swelled up a bit but it's going back in lol I'm so relieved. And I found out he's about 3 mnths old

Same thing happened with me! I thought he had a tumour and it was his man bits descending after sitting warm and cosy in a little fleece nest bed thing lol.
