Re: Hamster has scabs and crust around mouth?????
Omg! That's so crazy how you live here, and I was totally just looking at their website. But it didn't say if they see hamsters, so thank you very much! I will be making him an appointment there

Brilliant you've had two vet recommendations! Check any toys and houses for nails - sometimes these wood items have nails, and the hamster chews the wood and -eek. But if you're sure it's not that then they almost look like cold sores. I suppose it could be an allergy as well. A vet check would be needed anyway I think.

I really do think it's an allergic reaction to something he's eaten, I've been feeding him all kinds of new things so he doesn't get bored. But everything I feed him is pretty much Hamster safe but maybe he's just allergic to it

Does your tank have a mesh lid? It looks as though he was trying to break out and was able to fit his mouth/nose through a small opening but scraped it in the process. They look like normal healthy cuts, I personally wouldn't rush him off tom the vets, I would first try to figure out how he did it. If they become really red, have puss coming out of them or are not healing then I would worry about it

Hmmm, when I made the second pic bigger I think I see a spot of blood on one of the pieces of bedding. Blood would mean injury not allergic reaction. I would for sure be looking for the cause and getting rid of it.

Yep - mesh cuts looks about right - I think Erin has a point there. Have you got a photo of his cage/tank and we can be detectives.

Re: Hamster has scabs and crust around mouth?????
Here's his tank I know it's not much, I really hate him being in there. But I'm waiting on my money so I can build him a really nice big diy home for him, and I just can't wait! I looked at the mesh wire lid and there are no places chewed on or even a way he could he up there.. what about chewing on the puzzle playground or his wheel? I know that's not the right wheel either to have bit like I said I just don't have any money right now
