Re: Found a lump :(
Sorry to hear about Obi
Do you know when the test results will come back? Hopefully it's a cyst and the antibiotics will clear up the infection.
A bonus that Obi likes the antibiotics!!

Re: Found a lump :(
So upset. Not only has the lump grown loads over the weekend but we've just noticed a second lump on her other flank pic of the first lump is attached.
Waiting on a phone call from the vets sometime this week on the biopsy results.

Re: Found a lump :(
I'm so sorry, finding a second lump really isn't good news but I do hope the biopsy shows it's something that can be dealt with.
Thinking of you & Obi, fingers crossed for a positive outcome.

Re: Found a lump :(
So sorry to hear about the lump and a second lump. Hope you hear back from the vets about the biopsy results, I would chase these up as we got ours back the same day.
Hope you are ok x

Re: Found a lump :(
The vet phoned yesterday afternoon to say that the sample had come back inconclusive and had been contaminated with too much blood, so I'm taking her back in tomorrow morning. Apparently the head vet/surgeon is in tomorrow and will have a look at her.
However all the while the first lump has grown further (she looks like the hunchback of Notre Dame) and she has now lost a patch of fur on the right side (the side with the second small lump) which also has sore patches on it.
Now from this I have a horrible feeling that it could be Cushing's, as a side from the lumps this is what her skin looks like from the descriptions on the sticky thread above and generally from the internet Obi has become very sleepy and I don't think her wheels are seeing any action, unless she's on them in the middle of the night. She's bright enough when you wake her up for a treat or the baytril, though this morning she wasn't a happy bunny when I picked her up to give her a check over and I got bitten for my troubles, ouch!
So it's really touch and go as to where we go from here. Will see what the vet says tomorrow but I think it's the beginning of the end

Re: Found a lump :(
That must be so frustrating so wait so long to hear inconclusive test results. Good thing you'll be able to get her in right away tomorrow. It's very worrysome about the second tumor & fur loss. I hope you and your hamster get through this as stress free as possible. Whenever I have a sick hamster it always causes me stress.
