Charley is a freaky eater.
I stocked up on hamster food last week and I put all of the food near Charley's cage while making sure there was enough space between the cage and the food to prevent the packaging from being pulled through the bars since I had nowhere else to put it. I thought it was odd for her to be up at this time of the morning so I went over to see what she was doing only to realise she made two large holes in the Burgess Hamster Harvest bag and was trying to get the food. Would the packaging cause her any harm or should I just keep a close eye on her?

Re: Charley is a freaky eater.
Did you find any bits of packaging where she'd ripped the bad? They don't often eat things like that but it is possible, hopefully not enough to do any harm but yes do keep an eye on her.
Can you possibly find a better place to store her food? If she can smell it outside the cage that's really not very fair on her & you could have more problems.

Re: Charley is a freaky eater.
What I meant was I put the new unopened packages of food near her cage and I always keep opened bags of food away from their cages but I wasn't too sure on how to explain it. I didn't find any bits of packaging. I have now moved all of the food (open and unopened) into a spare large white bucket that my mam had.
