So sad to hear you lost Coco Lozz, especially at this time of the year. She`s away from any further discomfort now though and sometimes it`s better that way than persevering with antibiotics if they look very unwell.

As for the blood appearing from the nose, I`m really not sure why that would occur if it wasn`t symptomatic while she was alive, although it could be a reaction internally to her organs shutting down or an internal bleed. Not what you need when you have just had to make the final decision.

Rest in peace Coco. Such a shame you had to leave us so soon having been adopted by your new mum. x

I'm so sorry your little Coco didn't recover Lozz, you did your best for her & gave her the kindest gift in the end, I know how hard it is though & even more so at this time of year.

I've never had any experience of blood appearing like that when a ham is put to sleep, it's impossible to know exactly what happened but I would think it was due to her preexisting illness in some way.
I have had two hams PTS though & was there with both of them as it was done, close by the first time & holding my little girl the second time & I can assure it is very, very quick & neither showed the slightest sign of distress, discomfort or pain at the end.
I'm sure Coco slipped away without any more suffering.

Run free & play well at the bridge Coco.

So sorry to hear about CoCo. You did everything possible for her.
I agree with Cypher about putting them to sleep, I too have had 2 hamsters put to sleep, it's very quick and I know I felt a huge relief afterwards, that they were at peace and pain free.
RIP CoCo xxx
