Worried about little Puff

hi everyone, I've never been here before, I have kept hammys now for many years (coz there sooooo cute). I am worried about my long haired syrian Puff, he seemed fine until yesterday but this afternoon I found him flopped out in the middle of his cage, (he has done this before he has been known to fall asleep in his food bowl) but this time he hardley moved when I touched him he was breathing heavily and when he tried to stand up he just kept flopping back down. He has managed to crawl to bed I put his food next to it so he won't have to go far. He just doesn't seem himself and I am worried about him. My last hamster had a stroke but it wasn't the same kind of thing so I figured he hasn't got that, I felt him his wieght seems fine he's just extra floppy, there has been no change in temp so I figure its not hibernation. For the first time ever I am baffled by a hamster. oh and he is one year and 2 months old. Thank you to anyone who can advise me, I have no chance of getting to the vets til monday.

I am so sorry to hear about little Puff. It sounds as if he has had either a sudden heart attack or a brain haemorrhage both of which can happen suddenly and without warning. Hard though it is for you in losing him I know he suffered no pain and his path was gentle when he passed to the bridge. Rest in Peace Puff

thank you for your kind replies, i am glad it was over quick for him, he didn't seem in any pain he had a slightly bloody nose when i had found him gone. I just wish i had been their to reassure him as he went
