My hamster is sleeping more than usual

My hamster is sleeping a lot more than usual, like during the day she sleeps all day unless she wants a drink and I've noticed she'll stay up for 2 hours when I'm awake, and my sleeping pattern is bad at the moment so I've noticed she's sleeping a lot during the night as well. Her eating is different, she seems to be storing most of her food and eating very little. She is also being fussy when I hold her to check her teeth, normally she is a good girl but she struggles in my hand. Shes been making her bed bigger like she is making a cave around her, she's never done this and its really worring me. Please help.

It sounds like she's adjusting to the weather changes, when it starts getting colder and darker earlier they tend to sleep more. Twinkle has done this. Her storing her food is something Twinkle does when the weather conditions change. Twinkle's nest is always bigger too.

How long have you owned your girl? If less then 16 days(21 days if she is a dwarf) then I would suspect she may be preparing to increase the number of Hamsters in your house. As all you listed going on is very strong signs of a pregnant hamster ready to birth.

However if it has been longer then that amount of days and she has not had any possible contact with a male it is something else. If she is eating and drinking as normal it is probably exactly what Thin Lizzy suggests.

I've have had Hazel for 6 months now and she was in contact with a male about 14 days ago, i researched stuff about pregnancy in hamsters and i think she could be pregnant and i will keep a close eye on her.
