Default bad news

hi guys,

Chris and I took jez to the vets yesterday as I was concerened that her ears hadnt been up in a while (whilst i might have been being a little oversensitive we thought better to check)... anyways unfortunaly the vet found a lump and doesnt expect us to have Jezza for much longer

We are treating with Baytril as prescribed but i just wondered whether there is anything we can do to make her more confortable? We have a small fan heater on near her cage to keep her lovely and warm and have put some baby food in for herr which she seems to be eating (albeit VERY LITTLE).

my poor baby just any help would be apricated, thanks guys

I am sorry to hear that she is so unwell. I think that they appreciate normality in life and also cuddles. Tell her it is Ok to go if she feels she would like to and try offering special treats like chicken, egg and veg.
The greatest gift you can give though is to know in your heart when the time has come. If the lump is a cancer we would choose to give rest before there is any chance of pain rather that waiting for the lump to become critical. Lumps in certain places may be removable but I imagine the vet has accessed her and decided this is not an option.
I hope she graces your life a little longer and is comfortable in her twilight days.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss but her time had come and I am glad she had her few days of spoiling and cuddles which I am sure she appreciated. They do wait you know for you to tell them it's OK and I am sure she is now playing happily at the bridge, renewed in health.
