Default Help! My hamster looks ill!

My dwarf hamster is sitting and almost bouncing up and down with his body all the time while I can hear him saying little sqeaky sounds.
Right now he's just sitting and eating like nothing's wrong, but something must be wrong!
Why is he doing this??
His body just keeps going up and down. Could it be something serious??

I can't really tell from those symptoms Glimt what could be the problem. Which hamster is it? A baby or adult or an older hammie.
If he seems to be having fits it could be some neurological problem or he could have had a stroke. Keep him very quiet and make sure he is drinking and if you are still worried you should see a vet in the morning.
I hope he is well soon.

He is an adult, none of those we've been discussing before.
I got him last summer and after what I know he was young when I had him.
He keeps breathing fast and noticed clicking sounds for every breath, but he acts totally normal.
I don't even know if I can afford a vet =(.
Could it be a common illness, like cold, or anything else that will pass?

It could be a cold as they can catch human colds. It could also be a chest infection and they can go downhill very quickly with these. The clicky breathing is typical of a chest problem and is normally treated with an antibiotic from a vet. If you have any fresh thyme (the herb) you can make a thyme tea and try and get the hamster to drink it. Also crushing some thyme near the nose can help breathing and congestion.
Have you changed bedding or anything? Used a spray or air freshener? He could have an allergy so you should go back to your regular stuff if you have changed anything.
With as many hammies as you have Glimt you need to start a fund up for vet care. They deserve treatment when they are ill and you should not take on an animal if you cannot provide this. Put away a small amount each week so you have it available when needed. I hope you can manage to sort something out if you feel he really needs it.

I haven't changed beeding or anything, I'm pretty much an anti-chemical kind of person, ecological food, etc.
I'll be watching and see if he gets better, if it will keep going like that I'll take him to the vet.
I made some changes in my life that now means I should be able to afford the vet.
Thanks for the advice souffle, you're always there x)

Thanks!
He seems to have recovered and didn't need the vet after all..
Maybe he just had a cold as now he acts totally normal and no weird breathing anymore.
