Blood?..Need Help.

Hey, I haven't been on for a few weeks, been tired and busy at work.
I've been having a lot of trouble with Stan and her bar chewing. It is constant. The more I take her out of her cage the more she chews so for the past few days I've left her to it in her cage and handled her a little bit.
Anyway, it hasn't helped and tonight from the moment she woke up she was chewing.
To discourage her from chewing I gently blow on the cage and she usually just sniffs a little and moves away for a few minutes but tonight, when I did it, it must have startled her and she jolted back. A few minutes later I looked in and there was blood...

I can't make out where it is coming from, at first I thought it was her teeth but she is chewing things so I'm not sure. I think it's her nose.
Also, her left eye suddenly looks very slightly swollen.
She has been sitting in her igloo since it happened and she's come out for treats.

I can't do anything about it really tonight so I'll check on her in the morning, all hoping she's okay, I want to get her a bin because Im so fed up of the chewing.

Aww I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know I'm afraid but didn't want to just read and run. Our Skittle was a bar chewer so I swapped his cage for one with plastic sides quite sharpish as the noise he made got on our nerves! He now has 2 similar plastic sided cages joined by a nice long shaped tunnel and seems to quite like those.

I hope that your little hammy's okay and that her eye clears up by the morning (and the blood).

Thanks! I want to try and get the Samla ikea bin tomorrow!

Gosh I hope so too, she is still hiding away :/
I'm not sure if she has a little bedding in her eye from when she had her little fluster?

She may have I suppose but I guess like us she'll either get it out herself when she has a wash or it may work it's way out when she snoozes. Keep a check on it and if necessary a vet trip in the morning may be required (but I guess you already know that, sorry).

When Dolly wakes up she chews the bars straight away. I've now restored to buying a new higher bin. She gets her little face sore and it looks like she has bad old lady eye bags when she sticks her nose through to bite the bars. I've tried putting every chewable thing in her cage that exists but she still chews the bars. The only thing that stops her is simply putting the bars out of reach...

Oh dear.. I've just checked on her and her nose and mouth look clear but her eyes both look a bit gunky and watery!
She is also making little sneezing like noises?

This is the best picture I could get.. Her eyes are both open and not red but definitely watery looking..
Her mouth and nose look slightly red but not bloody, I think she must have cut herself.
I'm just not quite sure :/

Stanley has since stuck her face out of her igloo and her eyes look like they have cleared up!

But.. The left side of her nose looks kind of bruised? And she is also still making the sneezing type sounds?
I bought the Samla bin today and it's all set up for her, so I'm waiting for her to wake up and I'm going to put her in

If she still isn't acting herself by the morning then I'm going to be calling the vets to see what they say hopefully all is well!
