I have a dwarf hamster called Max who is a little bit over a year old. I think he must have injured his cheek pouch in some way and now it is inflamed and filled with pus. Brought him to the vet last Wednesday and they put him on some Baytril for about a week because they were slightly reluctant to drain the fluid out straight away.
His Baytril bottle reads 5 mg in 0.1 ml... not sure how strong this concentration is but his dosage is two drops per day. It's his fourth dosage today and so far there hasn't been any improvement with his swelling and I don't know what to do
How long does it usually take for Baytril to take effect? Should I be worried that it is not healing in any way?
Would really appreciate some input! I've been worrying so much about little MAx
