Roborovski Hamster Cyst/Tumor

I have 2 Roborovski dwarf hamsters - named Herbert and Hubert - and they're coming up to about 2 years old now. Hubert has a large tumor/cyst near his neck and Herbert has a smaller cyst/tumor near his private parts. I noticed them about 3 days ago. Does anyone have any idea what they might be? i had a Syrian hamster who developed a large tumor on her neck slightly like one of my boys has and she unfortunately passed away last year. Could it be the same thing that she had?
Also, just recently i spotted Herbert attacking Hubert (the one with the larger lump) and biting it and it bled. I am thinking of separating them but as they have been living together all of their lives i don't want to put them through much stress or loneliness in their last few months (hopefully years!).

I'm sorry to hear about your hamsters and I hope they get better during the mean time but I found several answers from people saying that it may be an abscess which could be from fighting as you stated.. Phone up your local vet though to see more from a professional.. Does the infected area have any pus or anything? Your hamsters are drawing blood from one another and even though they have to been living together since its time to move one to another cage if you're worried about too much stress use some of the bedding they're using and put it into the new cage so he is familiar to the scent.

If it turns out to be a tumor, it is likely benign. Benign tumors typically move around, whereas malignant tumors feel attached. It may have to be removed. It depends on if it affects his life. There always is a slight chance of the bad kind of tumors so check it out.

I hope its an abscess if all honestly and couldn't be life threatening.. Also with abscess (pus wounds) you'll need to take them to the vet to get it drained but either way take them to the vet

When blood has been drawn you need to separate them into separate cages. I'd also take them both to a vet to get a diagnosis of the lumps if you can

They need to be separated now, leaving them together when they've been fighting will only make them fight more and it could end up with both being seriously injured or even death.
I'd get them checked out at the vet as soon as possible.

I agree with the others, you do need to separate them & doing that will cause them a lot less stress than leaving them together now they're fighting, it may seem odd after they've been together so long but hams can fall out at any time & if they're weak or ill it can really exacerbate the problem.
I also think you need to get them checked by the vet to find out what's wrong & what can be done about it.
