Default Ted (passed away)

I was just about to get into bed when i noticed ted acting rather odd in his cage. he just didnt look right. Anyway, i went over to see him and he was breathing really heavily, so i got him out.
Hes currently lying on my left hand on my duvet with a towel over him and not moving but still breathing heavily. He will move if i take my hand away and he has a wander round but if he sees my hand again hes back lying down. hes had a bit of chicken which is good. Looks like im in for a long night and then off to the vets tomorrow. my poor little boy. I really hope i dont loose another ham, that would be two in 3 weeks

Well i think Ted is just being an attention seeker, after having a 10 minute doze in my hand i moved him back into his cage and hes been on his wheel and doing monkey bars lol. Heres me thinking hes really feeling ill . His breathing is still bothering me though, but seeing him having a run about etc has made me feel a lot better. I suppose when your feeling a bit poorly theres nothing better than a cuddle from your mum! Can get some sleep now, i was supposed to be in bed an hour ago!

Hope he is still looking well pinkemily. Sometimes if they get a fright they can stay very still for quite some time. Maybe something startled him so he wnt into the stay still and play dead mode? keep an eye on his breathing and if you are still worried you might be best to have him vhecked out in case it is a chest infection or something else.

i dont think i startled or scared him, i put him on the bed where he was walking around until he snuggled into my hand, and made himself comfy, then i took him downstairs to get some chicken, brought him back upstairs, put him on the bed and he did the same thing again. and kept licking my hand . He seems to be okay today, not seen him much but hes been wriggling about in his bed.

Ted passed away last night. His breathing didnt get any better and he just slept most of the time. I personally think that he had more tumors, he had the one from his belly removed a while back but i noticed he had a lump by his bum, with his age etc i know the vets wouldnt opperate. Hes been the best hamster ever! We bonded so much when he was on baytril for a while, he lived up to his name Super Ted because he really was super! Im going to miss him and his cuddles sooo much!
Im going to pay tribute to my 3 angels that i have lost in the past 6 months, Chip, Dale and now Ted, in the memorial bit later on. Been looking through my fave pics, which have cheered me up loads
