Default Wet Tail

So earlier this year (April), I adopted a hamster from our local shelter. He looked fine when we got him and then the second we got home he was lethargic and having diarrhea. I knew he had wet tail. I ran and got wet tail drops, vita drops and dissolvable tablets the second I found out. I touched his contaminated bedding and reached in the bag of clean bedding. It's been 7 months and I was wondering if the bag of bedding could still harbor the wet tail bacteria/disease. It's white Kaytee clean and cozy. The bag has remained open and nothing touched it. Is it safe to use with my current hamster for a Christmas themed cage?
