i've read various estimates but i just wondered on average how long a female hamster lives for. i'm sure it varies a lot but i just wondered what was about average. thank you.
The dwarf hamsters can live up to 18 months. The syrian hamsters up to 2&1/2 years. But one of Syrians was 33 months when she died - 3 months away from 3years! It all depends on if they have any illnesses during their life. Every year your hamster lives is 25 years for them!
Usually they live about 2-3 years, depending on the species and their treatment, but mine have lived fairly long lives, especially for dwarfs. Tom lived to be about five years, Harry for almost six, and Jolly for three.
Syrians & russian dwarfs can live 2 -21/2 years, sometimes longer if you're lucky, Chinese can live up to 3, not sure about robos tbh. Those really are just averages though.

Syrian Hamsters live to 2-4 years, like most other hamsters. It also depends on their care, if they are getting the best of care then it is most likely to live up to 3/4 years. It does vary a lot, especially on their health
