Default Not cleaning himself after a pee

My very young Syrian, Milo, seems to have a little bit of a wet genital area after a pee. Is it common for young hamsters not to clean themselves properly. I was told he is between 6-8 weeks.

I've never seen a hammy clean right after a pee...I'm guessing it would be gross?

A few times, I've been handling the hams when they took a pee break (on me, or elsewhere...) and its natural its damp for a moment. Doesn't seem to remain that way for long though. After a pee is normal. All day is not.

Pook is around sixteen weeks now, and his pee and poo escapades could fill a dozen leather bound volumes.....

I think not cleaning properly is common for a young hamster. Regular hygiene habits, like not peeing in the nest, etc., seem to be something they discover as they get a little older...of course there are some that never quite get it. Does he pee in one place? Are you working on potty training him? My syrian girl has sand in her potty, and usually cleans off after she pees by wiggling and rolling around a bit in the sand. It took her a few weeks to figure out that peeing in a potty was preferable to peeing in her nest.
