Teeth!!
Hello! I've had my hamster for about a month now and everything is going great! But I noticed today how long his bottom teeth were he doesn't like to chew anything. I've given him lots and lots of chews yet he's never touched them once :/ the only way I know that might work are his favorite treats that are hard, but obviously I don't want to give him too many. he used to chew on his bars but he doesn't really do it anymore(I found solutions to make him stop) . He still eats normal amounts of food and has never showed any hint of aggression. So overall, he's a pretty normal hamster, but his teeth are still concerning me. Any ideas that could help..?

Re: Teeth!!
Bottom teeth are supposed to be a lot longer than the top teeth. Are they touching the roof of his mouth when you look at them or are there any sores? Unless they are touching/cutting into the roof of the mouth or he is having trouble eating, he should be fine. Are you able to take a picture? Whimzees are great chew treats. They are for dogs, but hamsters tend to love them and they take a while to chew (usually). Also mini dog biscuits work.

Re: Teeth!!
Like Esmy said, bottom teeth should be longer. Long enough that it surprised me the first time I saw them.

Re: Teeth!!
Hello Sarahbean. Hammy teeth are supposed to be long; at least, the bottom ones are. It isn't always obvious that they are actually doing more chewing than you realize. Esmy posted a great photo of hammy teeth in another post. This is the link for it. Scroll down to page 5 to see a great photo of what hammy teeth should look like. I think you'll find this helpful.
No top teeth?!

I looked at the picture but my hamsters teeth seem to be longer? I can't tell if they're long enough to be bothering him though. I'll try to take a picture where you can see them

Re: Teeth!!
Do you know how to scruff him? There are videos on how to, if not. I just don't have a link. Gizmo's were a bit shorter than normal because they were clipped. They could be a bit longer and still be normal.

Re: Teeth!!
I got a chance to see his teeth today, and they seem a lot better now not sure why, but I did notice some marks on some of his chew toys that were never touched before hand
