Question Hamster has a wart. I think?

I have a female dwarf robo, Minnie, and she's almost 2 years old. so rather old.

I just noticed this growth on her back left foot. I think it's a wart. Does anyone have any experience with this? What do I do?! What should I expect? Any info would be really appreciated. I love Minnie and i don't want her to suffer

I've had this happen with one of my dwarfies and it was a small tumour. The vet removed it using a small laser and it didn't come back however hers was smaller and in a less awkward place. I would see the vet and see what they think. Is she managing to walk on it or is she finding it tricky. Sometimes they can can grow very quickly and make things difficult for the little one. I hope you can have her seen soon.

She walks fine. Eating normal. Drinking normal. Everything is normal except this thing on her foot.

I'm just waiting for the small animal vet to come back from vacation in a week.

I don't know if they've got laser at my vet's though. :/

Ugh. Honestly I think I'm way more worried about this than Minnie. Especially after a google image search on warts... yikes! Some scary pictures... All she cares about are the walnuts I distract her with when I inspect her little paw!

glad to hear you are getting her seen and it isn't bothering her much. They may be able to use normal surgery or even not think removal is needed so let us know what the vet says and good luck.

I think we're always more worried than our hams are to be honest. I hope your vets can help with the lump when you see them

Hi amomo - Like everyone else, I hope that you get a quick answer to the mystery lump. Good to know that Minnie is carrying on as normal and it is natural for us to worry so much as we can only go on what our precious hammies show us to determine their wellbeing.

Have you seen the vet previously or is this a first visit to the small animals specialist? I am taking two of mine for nail clipping tomorrow. It's a new vets to me but they are meant to have small animal expertise, which is the best that I have found so far in the area but until I meet the vet(s) & assistants, it's still an unknown and causing a little anxiety.

Please let us know how Minnie gets on when she has seen the vet. Lots of hammies hugs to you both.
