Default Mite Powder

Can anyone recommend a mite powder that I can use for small animals? the only ones I can find online are for use on chickens and poultry.

I have a My Little Friend spray one but I don't wish to saturate the fur and risk making the hammy chilly.

Thank you

Why not use the mite drops instead? I'd not be treating unless the ham has signs of mites and then I'd probably go for xeno 50 (or xeno 50 mini, whichever is more appropriate). It seems to be one of the best reccomended mite treatments on the market

Are you sure it is mites on your hamster ? is it just scratching ?
There is the 'spot on' drops that you put on their backs between their shoulder blades. Have you found mites in the cage or on the hamster ? It could be scratching because it could be hot under the fur. Does it scratch all the time or when first come out from a sleep.

Thanks for the replies, I thought Spot on was just for fleas.

There aren't any signs of mites and I personally don't think it's necessary to treat him. However my mum sees him scratching (which I think is routine grooming) and nags me crazily about treating him, so I said I'd find out a better treatment option than the spray in case I find it necessary in future.

What would be the signs if ever he did get mites? Are they large enough to be visible?

I dont know if it can be used on hamsters, but when I was breeding canaries, people put ant powder in the birds nest boxes to kill mites.
Spot on is for mites and fleas. Ant powder is not just for ants, but is a product known as ant powder. It fills mites, ticks, fleas, and many other minute bugs.
