Question Dwarf questions??

Hello! I don't know which category I would put this thread so I just put it under healthcare as it kindof fits in.
My friend is thinking about getting two hamsters and likes the robo and Russian breeds the best. They would be both male and are brothers so they have already been together their whole life.
How long do robos and Russians live? And could you keep the two together? Any health risks? Tips?
Thanks
I only have experience with Syrians so I don't want to tell her information I'm not quite sure about

Hi! Both seem to live on average 2 - 3 years. As they've been together their whole lives, they should be okay, as long as she provides two of everything cruial (food bowls, water bottles, wheels etc) so as to avoid fights. If your friend sees ANY wounds on either hamster, then they should be separated immediately. The cage should only have 1 level so the brother's don't become territorial over levels.

Anyone correct me if i'm wrong lol, a lot of this is from the internet :P.

Generally all hamsters live 2-3 years. I have 2 robos right now- they are really fun to watch and if you manage to tame them: play with. But there is a high risk that they will fight so a second cage should be handy. If 2 are kept together you should have 2 of everything in their cage: 2 wheels, bottles etc. It's also better to scatter feed them rather than using a bowl. Make sure the cage is only 1 level as hamsters can be territorial over one of the levels and this may cause fights. Make sure the hamsters are properly sexed as you don't want to end up with lots of tiny hamsters. If you're buying from a pet shop/inexperienced breeder then it's best to get them sexed by a vet a day or two after your friend buys them.

Hi. Welcome to the forum. Keeping two hamsters together can be tricky. Even though they are brothers and have been together all their lives, they could still end up fighting and will need to be seperated. If housed together, you will need a large cage with two of everything. Two water bottles, two wheels, two food bowls etc. This should stop territorial wars. The cage should ideally be one level so they dont fight each other who has what level.

Winter Whites cannot be put with Robo's. If this is what you mean by keeping the two together.
Robo's are harder to train than winter whites. Robo's are fast and are the smallest of the hamster family.
Both robos and WW live roughly 2 1/2 - 3 years. Some may live a bit longer.
hope this helps and hope your friend is pleased with the choice they make.
