Hamster Stroke?
Hello! Yesterday I came home from a week-long vacation (my neighbors fed him while I was gone, so he wasn't neglected for a week) and picked my hamster (2yr male syrian) up. His one eye had a black growth on it and wasn't open, and his other eye was shut and won't open. He also has a black growth over his one eye. He doesn't move around well anymore, and when I hold him he doesn't move when he used to before, and doesn't react when I touch or pet him. I tried and-feeding him food and water, but he only accepted the water. My mom assumes he has a stroke. Is there anything I can do to bring him back to his normal state? Or is he dying? Thank you very much<3

Re: Hamster Stroke?
Sorry to hear he's poorly.
He will need to see a vet and as soon as possible.

Re: Hamster Stroke?
Oh dear, that doesn't sound too good. I agree, he will need to see a vet ASAP. Can your neighbor tell you when the growth appeared? Some pictures may help but I'm not sure if a stroke can cause things to grow, especially a black growth. Good luck to you and your little one, I hope he gets better soon.

Re: Hamster Stroke?
Thank you very much for the replies and help xx He is going to the vet tomorrow. I talked to my neighbors and they said they never looked at him too closely because he was always asleep in his little hideout when they changed his food and water so I'm not to sure about when all of this happened :<
