I'm not sure about robos but certainly other types of dwarf do lose belly fur as they age. If he is a young hamster it could be he has mites also and if the treatment is not too stressful you could treat him too though I personally would always prefer a definite diagnosis with a skin scrape before treatment. It could also be an allergy to bedding so it may be worth trying a change to see if it helps. Maybe it would be best to have him checked out by the vet. Has he been in contact with the newbies? We find hammies love the chinchilla sand bath so you should try them with it. You could also try giving them some debittered brewers yeast spinkled on their food as this can help coat condition. I hope he is better soon.

It is not normal for a young hamster to lose so much fur Micky. You should see the vet and have her checked over. It is possible she could have a disease called Cushings disease which is a hormonal disorder. There is sadly no cure and the is an article on the Wiki you may like to read. It could also be an allergy, parasites, hormoral or other organ disorder. Very often vets cannot diagnose these conditions in hammys so you may like to make some suggestions. I hope it turns out to be something simple and she gets well soon.
