Please look at Wicket's teeth
I'm guessing this calls for a vet visit? I'm awful at scruffing so took me a while to get a good look at their teeth. I was looking for the bottom to be too long, but looks like the top teeth are long and crooked?

Re: Please look at Wicket's teeth
yes, I'd have her checked out. The bottom teeth are long normally, however her top teeth, look to be longer than they should be. I'm basing the size on my hams teeth, which are half the size of Penny's upper teeth.

Re: Please look at Wicket's teeth
You mean Wicket? LOL Thanks. I've never read about top teeth issues, only bottom. It's difficult to see how long their bottom teeth are when scruffing.

Oops, yes, meant Wickets-just getting bsck from vacation, guess my brain is still on vacation. Ha!
If her mouths closed, do you guess her teeth are touching her bottom lip?
Bottom teeth don't keep growing. It's their top teeth that will keep growing.
Her top teeth, unless there's a pretty good size crooked - unevenness to the teeth, I wouldn't think it's an issue, unless, the tooth, ( teeth) are split- then it most likely would split the gums. The length is what also can cause troubles- if they are not trimmed down, they can grow through the hams bottom lip

Right If you ever get to handle a rodent skull (I've handled several) you can pull the incisors out and they're several inches long! Both top and bottom!
I should add that the skulls I was handling were beaver skulls and so their teeth are larger/longer than a hamsters!

Re: Please look at Wicket's teeth
Yeah I'm confused because I thought it was the bottom teeth that continuously grew. He may have chipped a tooth when he was bar chewing- could account for uneveness, but tops seem too long still.

Re: Please look at Wicket's teeth
I'm having trouble seeing exactly what is going on in the picture. Are the upper incisors veering to the left in the photo? Or are they jutting either forward or back? They look crooked but not long to me but that could be the angle...

Re: Please look at Wicket's teeth
Yes, they are veering to the left and length-wise, would be overlapping the bottom a bit, not meeting up.
