Lol- yes, it's not silent, when hammering.. I do it outside on the patio. Pulling for you and poor hammy- that's terrible what those people did.! How long was the hamster left outside to fend for herself? My heart hurts and it sickens me what that ham has gone through.

I agree- can you please boil water, and soak some ham food? I'm scared she is very malnutritioned- she's perhaps shaking due to weakness from lack of food. I think every second of every minute, is critical in order to save her.. Bless you for taking her in. Xx

Its people like you, Jole, that make me have renewed faith in humanity. She now has a warm dry place to live out whatever remainder of her life is left to live. You are truly her savior and a good, GOOD person.

I can't even fathom the mindset of people who could send a little tiny helpless creature to it's death. It makes me feel ill. I'm so glad you were there to take her in.

I hope you managed to soak the a babyfood and got her eating. How is she doing?

Oh my, what a terrible thing to have done to the little girl. Thank goodness someone kind happened to walk by and bring her in! I hope it turns out to be nothing serious and she comes around for you x

I showed my SO what you wrote and we're both so angry at those people! How awful. Tremendous kudos to you for bringing her in. I really hope for the best, and Souffle and the other members here will be able to give you some advice.

Keep her warm and secure, and even if she does passes, she'll know that she was cared for and warm when she does. xx Let's hope all goes well though! I sometimes will take a spoon to particularly large food, and mash it like is a mortar and pestle. That could help too.

She was eating apple last night, and I have some stuff soaking in water. But no matter how hard I mashed it I couldn't get most of the seeds to break up or the corn. I broke through three bag wrapped in towels before I gave up. So I guess I'll have to pick around the parts that wouldn't break when I go to dig out the mush.

She was out and about this morning. Her eyes don't open all the way, and are not very bright. One eye only opens half way and the other about three quarters. But at least she was moving.

She did poop...regular poop. So should I worry about the wet tail medicine to be safe? Or just leave it. She did, however, poop where she sleeps. My rodents as a kid always pooped in a corner. After she pooped there and woke up she moved hides. So is she pooping in her sleep? Is that normal?

I have no idea how long she was left outside. But if it wasn't for quite a few days then they were not feeding her at home. She is literally skin and bones.

She is really natty. There are parts on her fur that look like they could be matts if she had enough fur to tangle. I read you can't bathe hamsters, will that just fix itself? Or should I brush her or something?

Thanks for all the replies! Sochi surviving the first night is a step in a good direction!
