Thank you all for your kind words and wishes. The vet called this morning to say Jj took a turn for the worse. She was having rectal protrusion and was not eating or active so rather than them keep trying to put it back in I made the choice to put her to sleep. She was a great first ham and while I'll miss her I know she is not suffering!

I am so sorry. You made the right choice to set her free when she would be in pain if allowed to continue.
She sounds like an amazing hamster who touched many lives.

I am SO very sorry to hear about j.j.. I know how great of a hamster she was for you and your students. Please remember that even though j.j. got her wings today, she will be waiting at the rainbow bridge for you.
