Judas seems to be on his last legs...
My old man Judas has been showing signs of aging for quite some time now...
Today, he is quite hunched and slow and wobbly...he is also not opening his eyes, just slanting them...I feel his time for the bridge may come soon, although he has surprised me before, I think it's more of a reality now...
He is already down to a bare minimum in his cage...I tried to pick him up to check on him but he nipped gently so I left him in peace to go back to sleep. I will give him some cooked chicken in minute and see if he wants to eat some...
It's so hard watching our little furries grow older...
(Judas is the hamster in my pic, this is when he was 6/7 weeks old)

So sorry SinNyx, and you are making things as comfortable as you can for little Judas.
Keep strong for your little ones x

All you can do is make things as comfortable and easy as possible for him. I went through the same thing just over a month ago and it really is difficult. I hope little Judas stays comfortable until it is his time, if it comes soon.

Re: Judas seems to be on his last legs...
Thank you all
He perked up a tiny bit and opened one of his eyes when he was having some chicken...I knew it may do the trick! I hope that he can live the rest of his life pain free, I would hate for him to be in pain...
I need to clip his back nails though as they are long, so a vet trip may be needed, but I am afraid to put him through the stress...and he even nips me sometimes trying to handle him...not sure what they may be able to help with there.

Re: Judas seems to be on his last legs...
Judas is always doing this lately.. A while back I actually assumed he has passed as he was out cold and off colour...I had held him a while and wrapped him up about to put him in a jewellery box...and his whiskers began to move ...I must say he seems to love scaring me! I will try and take him out again later for a little cuddle...his nipping worriea me that he may br in a biy of pain but I guess that is to be expected with him being his age.
He was my first hamster from a breeder...I have always had a lot of rescues and rehomes or pet shop hams and unfortuantely not been able to spend a great deal of time with them or lost them tp strokes ect...I always blamed myself for their deaths...but at lwast with Judas in his old age it makes me happy knowing he has always been so healthy and happy. I hope he continues to do so in the rest of his days with me.

I am sorry... it is so hard to see are hammies age isn't it? At least you know that he has had the best life that you could of provided for him and that he has been a very happy ham.
