You are better to register with them when you get your hamster before you need to actually see them for anything in particular. Routine appointments are seen on Monday – Friday from 9.20am – 11.20am and 2.00pm - 4.20pm, Saturday 9.00am - 11.20am. Additional/emergency appointments are seen on the day required or as soon as possible. New appointments last for 20 minutes. Recheck appointments last for 20 minutes. If you come by car, there are ample parking facilities. At Easter Bush, a special area in front of the Hospital is set aside for use of clients. Several bus companies run services to Easter Bush, or nearby from within Edinburgh itself. Please contact Traveline Edinburgh on 0131 225 3586 for a timetable.

I want to add other good vets to this list so please everyone get your recommendations in. It really is important to find a good hamster vet, and they are a bit of a rare commodity in certain parts of the world.

I've taken Sid here and they were really helpful today so I'm going to recommend them, they see you really quickly and seem to know a lot about hamsters.

I use Inglis Vets in Dunfermline for all our animals:

Inglis Veterinary Hospital
Halbeath Road
Dunfermline
(opposite Kwik Fit)

Tel 01383 722818

They're all very good, but they have an exotics specialist, Romain Pizzi, who is fabulous. He sees a lot of our small animals, when I can get an appointment with him!
He's also operated on one of our guinea pigs.
He also does lots of work for Edinburgh Zoo with their exotic animals.
Wouldn't go to any other practice now.

For anyone who lives in south or west London, CJ Hall vets are wonderful. Matthew has been great and operated on an internal lump on my little winter white. These vets are great, but don't come cheap, I guess you pay for quality.

Also have branches in Ashurst and Fair Oak. Very easy to access appointments, reasonable rates for excellent service. I have been with the for the past year and they are willing to try (within reason). They have removed an eyelid from a chinese hamster and performed a hysterectomy on a syrian.

I use Lawrie who have a branch in Cumbernald and also Falkirk. Used to use a different vet after after our 3rd piggie died there we didn't trust them. The new vet is fantastic. They deal with all rodents, reptiles, birds and even fish! The staff are all so friendly and really care for the animals plus it's much cheaper than anywhere else we have went so a huge bonus!

I'd recommend wilson and partners vet in Cupar Fife. Best vet I've been to and prefer to travel further to go to this one than my local one, as they are much more experienced with hamsters, friendly, caring and very reasonable prices. I've only had Danielle and she is brilliant

I use Nine lives vet centre in Redbourne, Hertfordshire. I've used a vets in my local area but wasn't happy with the service i received so went to look for a new vets! I choose Nine Lives for 2 reasons, the first was that it was recommended to me by someone on fancy-rats and secondly because they sell fucithalmic cheaply. One of my dwarfs, Winter has an on going eye problem and needs it and they had the cheapest in the area.

Emily is amazing and she really treats each animal like it was her own. Her passion is obvious. Nine lives also only deals with 'cats and small and exotic anmals' so all of their staff are experts on what all my pets need as i only have small ones!

I don't mnd travelling for them from hatfield, its worth it... There is this thing about the place that makes you wanna go back, haha.
