Berry is at the vets today
Berry is at the vets today having her eye removed She is a climber, she always has been, her favourite thing to do is scale her house and hang off the roof by her teeth and hands till she looses grip, falls onto her shelf then goes and does again over and over, we have tried to discourage her from doing it whenever we are around.
However we can't be around all the time, unfortunately during the night she must have done it, except this time I'm guessing she hit her head or something as we came down to find her right eye all pushed out, we kept it moist and rushed her to the vets as quickly as we could, but have been told it is probably unlikely they can save her eye.
I feel so helpless and sad for her, yet I know the moment she is well again she will be back up climbing again, I'm going to kit her house out with many many hammocks so that when she falls she will fall into them now and hopefully not hurt herself.
I really hope she is going to be ok

Re: Berry is at the vets today
Update: Berry has had the operation, I can't go and see her till 6.30, and got to work out how to pay vet fees of £162.32 when I also still need to pay the rent, gah! why are vet fees so expensive?!

Re: Berry is at the vets today
Aw bless her, glad she's got through the operation safely. Maybe ask your vets if you can pay in instalments?

Re: Berry is at the vets today
At least your baby is safe and sound. In fact I think your vet bill is reasonable amount really considering op and was emergency! You could ask instalment payment as the above suggestion.
Good luck

Re: Berry is at the vets today
I paid it all, there was no option for installments, just always seems a bit of a shock when they mention the price, the same with dentists! So anyway they couldn't save her eye so they removed it and have sewn it shut, in fact looking at it it looks just as if she never an eye there in the first place, she's still a bit sleepy understandably and has to go back for a checkup on Saturday, all in all she looks so much better than she did when she went in and while she has lost the eye she should still be able to manage fine with just one eye. She gave me ham ham kisses so she must be feeling a fair bit better than before.
