The demodex mite can live on the hamster skin and cause no problems at all, but if the hamster is run down, or out of condition, it can suddenly cause problems.

just back from the vets with benny and it was a different vet he said his rash is due to a reaction from his baytril injection , which is where he injected him.this vet now said he should be on 0.2ml of baytril instead of 0.5ml, so which dosage do i give him

Is it once per day with the Baytril? I would call the vet and ask them to clarify the dosage. However when our dwarfies were on Baytril they had 0.1ml so as they are about half the size of a syrian I would say the 0.2ml dose is correct. Poor wee lamb but that is really good if the diarrheoa has stopped. His botty should heal up soon and he will feel comfier. I can bring some proC to Todmorden if you want it on Saturday.

yes please souffle, then in the futrue if needed i,ll know what it looks like
i,ll stick to the 0.2 dosage
