nooboo,
My Nibbles when he was around 3 months old still only weighed in at 2oz. He slowely put on weight and then only around 6 months plus did he gain. his fur also didn't really grow all that much till after 6 months (Long-haired).
I think some are just genetically going to be smaller / lighter. As long as you keep an eye on things and Ponder is eating plenty and acts ok then there may be nothing to worry about.
As for peeing on his food - do you put his food in a bowl or scatter it on the ground? Scattering it on the ground (some of it) can be a good thing sometimes as it will encourage natural forageing and he's not going to pee on every little seed he finds scattered around! So for a while maybe scatter his food in several little piles throughout his cage and see how that goes.
Just a suggestion

the problem is when she moves the food, she moves it into a tube, and then sleeps uphill of it and then moves to it and pees just above it so it runs down onto the food. I have tried to relocate her from the tube but she just moves back. I will weigh her again once the little ones have been moved out

food...
lol little rascal!
Is there anyway of changing her sleeping nest? A different arrangment somehow?
Obviously some hamster DO pee on their food and may even do so in the wild, I don't know? But I know they live in a very sensory world so maybe he just likes that way! ?
He may grow out of it too, they do change their habits sometimes
Good luck!

lol no I hadn't but just read somwhere that mentioned about her babies which explained things! (Thats what happens when you don't come in here for a while)! So yes, of course you can't just "change out her bed" right now LOL!
I'm sure things will probably change again once the babies are gone and she re decorates the place!

OK...
I don't know whether this will scare anyone, by the last time I weighed Kim, one of my Syrians, she was 275g.
She's a Silver Grey girl from a breeder known for big hamsters - not fat at all, just enormous.
Haven't weighed anyone for a while, so maybe I will and post the results.

Must remember to weigh the Roborovski soon.

Today Nelson was 154g but the old Christmas pudding Bailey has gone up to a whopping 174g. She does come from a line of large hamsters as for showing they are meant to be large but she is only 3 months and still growing!!!!!!!

My goodness she is a nice big girl - she'll be competing with my Dove Tort to get the biggest hamster accolade at future shows if I don't watch out
