My fudge has wet tail
Poor little Fudge had wet tail. Advice needed. He has been to the vet at [email protected] I have baytril for him. I have also picked up some Pro C. My daughter is going to look after Cookie to prevent him getting it. What else can I do to help Fudge??

Re: My fudge has wet tail
I agree, dry mix and his antibiotic and peace, quiet and plenty or rest. Keep his sleeping area very clean and spot clean any areas of wetness. Keep his fluids up as an upset like this can cause dehydration. Hope he fights this and makes a full recovery. x

Re: My fudge has wet tail
Really hoping he gets better soon. I agree all above byt i eould also have his water bottle as close as poss, and also try him with water too as they can become dehyrdated very quick. Also did you disinfect his cage and change all bedding? Before putting him back in. I would also get rid of all his toys etc and start again as wet tails very infectious. Fingers crossed x

Re: My fudge has wet tail
Hi all thanks for replying. I didn't disinfect his cage as I took him in his cage to vets but will do it now, take out wheel, bedding. Will try cleaning his bum too. Bless him. Hope I caught it early enough.

Re: My fudge has wet tail
When my old hamster hamish had it we used cotton wool balls with luke warm water to clean his bum then towel dried him. Make sure hes as dry as can be. Also make sure you clean your hands throughly before going anywhere near your other hamster. Hope he makes it.

Re: My fudge has wet tail
Might be speaking too soon but Fudge seems like his normal self at the moment. He is currently burying his new house under his megazorb and on top of that he has placed all his toilet roll, he has also tried monkey barring again. He literally has a mountain in the corner of his cage. Ears are up a little as well. I know he not out of woods yet and I will be keeping a close eye on him. Thanks to all for advice you are an amazing bunch of people. X

Re: My fudge has wet tail
Quick update: fudge has been eating and drinking this evening by himself. Still tired but doing ok. He passed a soft poop so at least things seem a little better today x
