So glad Daisy is doing so well hope she continues to make a speedy recovery. We had a 3 legged Syrian and there was nothing he couldn't do he loved to climb and explore just play it by ear with Daisy, Hoppy use to climb up vertical tubes and run on his wheel I just checked his stump daily for signs of soreness which luckily he never suffered from . Hope your little boy fulfils his dreams my daughter too wants to be a vet from an early age she is now 17 and starting a weeks work experience at the local vets

I'm so, so sad. I just went to check on Daisy and found her curled on her side. She'd passed away in her sleep.

The poor little love. When I checked her a couple of days ago she did seem a little disorientated. I put it down to me having disturbed her but deep down I knew she wasn't right. And yesterday she didn't seem to have touched her food...

It seems that whatever was wrong was very serious. I'm thankful she was spared a lot of suffering at the very end...

I don't know how I'm going to tell my little boy tomorrow. If anyone has any tips, I'd be very grateful in this respect.

Thank you all again for your support when our wee girl was recovering from her op. I'm proud she had the gusto to get through it and she will be sorely missed. So sad

So very sorry you have lost lovely little Daisy. It seems so sudden, so possibly could be a stroke. It is comforting that she went in her sleep and did not suffer too much. RIP little one, and play hard at the Rainbow Bridge beautiful little creation.

I am so very sorry.
Children accept things better that we do often. Perhaps you can read him the rainbow bridge poem and explain how it seems that the tumour that Daisy had had become too much for her and she was called to the bridge to save her feeling poorly anymore. Let him hold her and prepare her for burial perhaps in a box with her favourite things. Allow him to decorate the box then dig a grave and bury her. You can both then visit the garden centre and choose a special plant to mark her grave and when that plant flowers next year Daisy will be reborn and enter the great circle of life again.
I think children like to know that nothing ends and a little bit of her becomes part of the plant and the plant makes oxygen which then becomes part of them. It really is a wonderful thing is life x
Play well at the bridge and send a rainbow to your family to tell them you are safe x
