Default Could anyone tell me what this is?

Hi everyone, I have just noticed this on my dwarf hamsters foot, it doesn't seem to affect his movement and he is as bright and as full of energy as ever. does anyone know what it could be? I cant get a vet appointment for 2 days

It looks as if he has either pulled a nail, got a slight infection in the toe or has a little tumour there.
Take him to the vets and see what they say. It may clear with some antibiotics. Check there is nothing rough in his cage and the wheel is not runged and also he has no barred shelves to climb on as they can cause foot damage.
We had this happen in in our case it was a small tumour which the vet removed using a laser and it never came back.
Hope it resolves quickly.

Does look like a little cyst. Your vet should be able to confirm but many just say keep an eye on it. That`s all very well but what you want is either it treated or removed if it is a viral growth. It might not grow any bigger but it`s better to find out. Has it been on his toe long or have you only noticed it just recently?
