Lots of blood on karlie bogie wonderland wheel!!

Is it the camera or is the "blood" really that dark and "purplish"? Your mention of berries in the cage reminded me of an incident with my friend's tortoise. I was looking after her recently and I looked in to find that her bedding was stained bright pink! She's on paper towels while she's being treated for a chronic respiratory infection so it was easy to see. We finally figured out that it was the little bit of red lettuce in her mixed greens that was causing it!

Hi. If his paws looked a bit redder and sorer than the normal pinkish colour, it could be friction from the wood and his paw pads have reacted to this, causing this to happen. Using a plastic wheel will be the best option until you discover the real reason behind this, but if it doesn`t happen again, chances are the wheel is the culprit. Wood might seem smooth, but it can be a rougher surface to walk or run on if it`s a constant thing, causing the pads to rub against wood a bit like sand paper.

Well I'm not sure about the paws because he has always had really pink paws since I got him, but yes the colour on the wheel is purple-y rather than a red/brown so I'm not sure if its the berries or not

I think it's the berries but would keep an eye on him
