Re: Lots of blood on karlie bogie wonderland wheel!!
Did you check the wheel for any rough edges? He could have caught his testicles or possibly pulled a nail and this has bled but now sealed over. Check the toes. Pop him in a glass then look through to see if you can see anything amiss. The normally heal up quite quickly though as long as you watch for anything looking swollen or oozing.

Re: Lots of blood on karlie bogie wonderland wheel!!
I will check him over again tomorrow as I don't want so stress him out anymore tonight as he is acting quite healthily (I have been trying to pick him up tonight, he is still in the middle of being tamed). But yes I will do this, from what I have seen briefly tonight, there is nothing out of the ordinary. Obviously if something did happen it is on the mend otherwise I think there would be blood in other parts of the cage?
I don't know if I should buy a new wheel, it's just I haven't seen a single bad review of the karlie! and it's such a good wheel :/

He has some pink berries in his cage, could his wee have changed colour?

If he is fine tomorrow, I will take the berries out and wheel back in and stay up with him and keep watch

Re: Lots of blood on karlie bogie wonderland wheel!!
I had this happen with my syrian and his karlie wheel. He was 10 weeks ish at the time. The wheel had no splinters as i sanded it down first and checked it over. I took it out and put in the wheel that came with the cage and bought a senior wodent wheel, never saw any blood after that. I personally think its the ridge on the side and his feet were rubbing on it. My robo now has the karlie wheel with no prons. I also have another in the playpen which jeffro my syrian uses but not to the same extent he did with it in his cage so not had any problems since.

I just thought that if it was the wheel there would be blood paw prints elsewhere in the cage? Did yours experience this?

Re: Lots of blood on karlie bogie wonderland wheel!!
Nope i found a tiny bit on his shelf but lots on the wheel. I think it was the side of his leg rather thhan his paw. I couldn't check properly as i'd only had him a few hours and didn't want to stress him. I could be wrong but its personally what i think it was.
