Bald Patch
I noticed Artie had some fur hanging off one side when I ran my finger across him it came out in a lump on looking closer he has a large patch where fur has come out - I'm not sure if bald is the right way to describe it as he has a short "fuzzy" covering over it and he let us touch it with no problem so it's not sore to him and it's come out quickly the patch is probably the size of a 5p.
He's obviously getting on now - so I'm not sure if perhaps he's just not grooming as well as he used to - or if it's just old age?
But I guess I needed some reassurance of if it's just 'normal' or if I should get him to the vets.
Any help would be fantastic thank you!

Re: Bald Patch
Something similar happened with my hamster on his lower back area. After a week or so it all grew back. If it's not bothering him it's probably fine.

Re: Bald Patch
Thanks for your replies .
It's around his scent gland on his left side.
Nothing more seems to be coming off now, and he's still happy as pie trundling around and squeaking his head off at me.

Re: Bald Patch
It's looking a little better, he's very shaky and his balance is a bit off when he wakes up (he's always been shaky when he woke up its just got worse) he does also walk around with his eyes closed bless him. Taken most of his toys out now so he has a flatter area to walk around - though as soon as I did that he decided to climb onto everything I left in there lol.
Finding it so hard to be around him at the moment as just scared of when it will be the last time so also spending a lot of time with him (yes it's hard but I wont let him know!)

Re: Bald Patch
I don't know, the same exact thing happened with my WW. It wasn't, painful to her, but we put some Neosporin on it and all her fur grew back within a week, completely normal.
Hope this helped.

Thank you Cowgirlskipper.
