2 mos old panda's eyes are now both closed

we've only had the panda hamster (ninja) for one week- i noticed last night that one eye was closed- the other was somewhat closed and had some white film in the eye- tonight both eyes are closed- ninja is only interested in nesting activity- i called the pet store and our vet- i doubt this is caused by a draft and he doesn't seem to be constipated or have wet tail (diarhae)-ANY SUGGESTIONS?

It could be an allergy to his substrate or bedding. Some hamsters do not get on with shavings or other types that can be dusty or possible it may be an eye infection. These are not uncommon and need antibiotic drops to cure them.
I am more concerned about you saying he is only interested in nesting which means he is not getting up and moving about. This type of lethargy in such a young hamster is very worrying as they are usually quite active. The eye issue can be a side effect of something else being wrong so I would say you need to see a vet with him as soon as possible for a full examination.

Yep, vet and please let us know how he gets on. I try to use an exotics vet for my small furries as they have more experience with them. There may be one near you.
