Default Old hamster fur loss.

Hey everyone,

My hamster (Luna) has had fur lost recently and she is about 2 years old.
i took Luna to the vets thinking it may be mites and he gave me some drops to put on the back of her fur every 2 weeks.

But her fur loss has got worse and now i can see black spots, i researched it and i thought it was her scent glands but realised it was to high up and not black or round enough.

please help me find out 100% if it is mites, natural spots or something else

the photos i took tonight are in the attatchments (sorry if they are too big)

Default Re: Old hamster fur loss.

Here's how to tell if your hamster has mites...
Take Luna out of her cage and put her over a paper towl. Take a comb and brush it through her fur. Then take a magnifying glass and check to see what came out of her fur on the paper towl. If it mites then bleach her cage and everything in it. (Make sure you dilute the bleach) Then take her to the vet again and ask for something for mites. If she doesn't have mites then just go back to the vet anyway to tell them that your hammy isn't getting better.
I hope I helped
I'm not an expert in these things but i researched this on the web
Good luck with Luna!!
