Unhappy Measles

Hi I've read that hamsters can catch our illnesses, i may have measles. The incubation period is 2 weeks, could I pass this on to her? Really worried

Went to the docs, apparently I have chicken pox for the second time round! I've went back to my mums so I'm gonna have to have her collected today as she will need fed, hopefully she won't be susceptible. She's my first hammy, it's crazy how much you care and worry about them!

I'd play safe as certain viruses can cross the interspecies border however I doubt if anyone knows about chicken pox or measles specifically. Get someone else to attend to her until you are better.
When my daughter had chicken pox though none of the hamsters ever caught it and I have never heard of anyone elses who did.

Oh no! Hope you don't feel too ill! My hammies have never caught anything I've had, but when I'm ill I get the OH to look after them to try and cut down the risk of passing anything over.
