Re: White lumps
Just came back! The vet thinks they were abscesses and thinks she might have gotten them from some rough grooming or something. They left to drain them in the back, the small one they drained completely and they drained the bigger one almost completely. They could have drained it all, but they decided to leave a bit in as doing it all would stress Charlotte too much. I was given antibiotics that Charlotte will need to take for a few weeks or until the lump is completely gone.
We also talked about her age related stuff, mainly her plucking/fur falling out issues. They confirmed what I thought about most of the spots that fur isn't growing back, the hair cells in the skin had to have been damaged or she damaged them when she plucked the fur out. And if those cells are damaged, then fur most likely won't ever grow back. But the vet told me that there is a small change some will.
All in all, Charlotte was a trooper at the vet. She did better than last time, last time she tried to escape from the vet tech when they went to weigh her. But like the last time, there was no biting at all. She did wiggle about in hands, but that's mainly normal for her. Charlotte was annoyed with all the touching and manhandling after a while, but never took it out on anyone. When they brought her back out from draining the abscesses, she was trying to climb out of the carrier and looking at/toward me trying to express she was done with this whole thing now and wanted to go home.
Charlotte is now back in the tank with Scarlett, happy to be back. She needs a good grooming or sand bath now as all the handling made her remaining coat greasy and ruffled out of place. I don't think Scarlett even knew she was gone. She was sleeping when I pulled Charlotte out and was only half-awake a few seconds before we left. She was still sleeping when we came back, but she woke up after I put Charlotte back in. Scarlett greeted her like normal and then proceeded to carrying a large treat around before settling down to nibble at it with Charlotte.
