Default Hi this is probably a lost cause

Hi everyone i have around a 2 year old hammie named "Jesus" pronounced the spanish way because he has a huge cross on his back anyways he was fine yesterday then this morning I found him out of his house and laying in the corner of his aquarium so I tried to touch him and he freaked out did not bite though.

He then proceeded to wobble side to side while walking was very weak and kept falling I had been prepared that he would pass this am.

all day he has been laying around in his tank breathing heavily and right when I think he is about to pass he gets up and starts wobbling around.

Approx 2 hours ago he wobbled over to his food bowl fell over and then regurgitated pink fluid 3 times which looked to me like blood tinged fluid right then and there I thought ok this is it he's going to pass

My 2 chihuahuas and I have been beside his cage talking to him so he knows hes not alone and we've been praying out loud to him.

After that he passed out for about an hour still breathing and then got up and slowly walked around.

The wobbling back and forth has stopped but he's still very lethargic and just sleeping in a ball.

I tried googling all the symptoms but just keep coming up with "hamsters cannot puke" which i witnessed 100% he threw up 3x pink fluid he tried puking more but it would not come up.

I have a heating blanket under and around the sides of the aquarium all day as the glass was cold.

He's still alive and breathing laying in a ball

I don't want to take him to a vet because A) I assume he is on his way to rainbow bridge and B) it's snowing here and -16 and C) its now after 10pm

anyone heard of this before?

also to add he has not eaten or drinkin anything all day today I have tried several times but he walks away and I don't want to stress him out if he's trying to pass on.

Last ditch effort.

Anyone?

It doesn't sound good, hun. If it's his time I hope Jesus passes peacefully to the Bridge. My Inara had to be put to sleep yesterday so she will take care of him.

Oh I am so sorry for you and Jesus. At 2 years old he's a Senior hammy. I've never heard of a hamster throwing up and I'm not really sure that's what it is. It sounds more like a hemorrhage. He may be bleeding internally. Unless he's seen by a vet I don't think we can know for sure what is happening. This sounds really bad for Jesus, so I think he is going to the bridge.

I am so sorry you and Jesus are going through this. I hope that if it is his time to go to the bridge that he will go gently and peacefully.

I am so sorry that little Jesus is having a hard time. It's never easy to watch our furry loved ones like this.

It does sound like he is struggling and it may be his time to go soon. Is there any way, in the meantime, that you could at least speak with your vet? Via e-mail or phone? I know, personally, my vet is always willing to do whatever she can to help.

I think you are doing the right things- keeping him warm. Perhaps you could also give him a little bit of baby food or something similar? Something that he could just lick up a bit of if he would like. He may not, but at least it would be there.

I wish nothing but the best for both of you. And if it is his time, I sincerely hope it is as peaceful as possible. xx

Have you tries calling the RSPCA? They might be able to get out in the snow.

It sounds like he's going to the giant wheel in the sky. I'm sorry He's a senior hammy now and he's had a lovely life. Just keep him warm and keep yourself close and if he does pass, I hope it's peaceful x
