Thaks samzyzg. Anyone know whether/how I should be pushing fluids? Syringe feeding them if need be? The only way she will tolerate that is if she is scruffed or swaddled and I don't want to add to her stress more than I have to. But I know it's so important to stay hydrated with wet tail.

try putting a drop of water around her mouth and she may lick it off. Good luck, I hope she gets well again soon

You can check his hydration level by using the tent test: Gently pull the skin on his shoulders and back and see how quickly it falls back into position. If it doesn't go right back but instead hangs [tents] then he's dehydrated and needs a rehydration formula.

Ok, both of these are very helpful Horsey, she sometimes does and sometimes doesn't lick it off. She ate a bit of apple earlier though...the vet said she wasn't dehydrated, but she's coming out of bed a bit less so am being more vigilant.

Poor little girl, hopefully she pulls through OK. She sounds like a fighter!

She came out spontaneously and had a drink from her water bowl! She drinks just like a bird - scooping some up in her mouth and swallowing it down her throat by raising her nose. She sampled some home made electrolyte solution (6 tsp table sugar, 1/2 tsp table salt made up to 1L with water) - and I think she liked it! So all is good for now...although she pongs a bit despite being cleaned out. The diarrhoea is definitely not as severe as it could be, judging by others' stories.

Sorry Willow is poorly; you are doing all you can, keep offering her food and water to keep her system moving; she may take it if it right there even when she can't be bothered to go foraging herself. Fingers crossed it is a mild case and it clears up soon. Gentle hugs to Willow x
