Re: HELP! My Hamster has Pyometra :-(
Aw, what a beautiful (and technologically competent!) girl. Fingers crossed the meds do the trick for her. My vet had to order in the Galastop too.

Re: HELP! My Hamster has Pyometra :-(
Luchie is still doing well on baytril and galastop with no more bleeding. She is due another check up at the vets in a few days time and I am keeping everything crossed! I guess the real test will be when she stops the meds :-/ I just hope and pray the gallastop combined with Baytril has worked for her.

What a lovely girl, I'm so glad she seems to be responding well to the meds. Good luck and the vets

Re: HELP! My Hamster has Pyometra :-(
Luchie update ... I am happy to report that Luchie has now been well in herself and has had no sign of bleeding after finishing her two week course of baytril and gallastop. She has been well for three weeks now and I just hope she will continue to be healthy well and happy. Many thanks to everyone who has wished her well and offered advice x

Re: HELP! My Hamster has Pyometra :-(
Yay! Go Luchie! I hope she stays well for a long time yet. If she does suffer a relapse, then you can go for a second course of meds (though I hope she doesn't need it).

Re: HELP! My Hamster has Pyometra :-(
If she does relapse thats exactly what ill do Vectis... Again thank your for all the galastop advice and help! It does seem that Galastop and Baytril when used together are useful in the treatment of pyometra - which may give hope to many more older hammy owners, where an operation is not feasible x
