Re: my poor little hammy
I was told his loss of balance could be due to a nerve problem what do you think?

Re: my poor little hammy
Follow Poms advice Liam and watch them both very closely. She has been through this ordeal and can advise you best. You might be lucky and what came out will be all that was there, but it`s really difficult to tell when you can`t see what`s going on inside him. Has he passed any normal poo since? Urine? Having a sand bath in the cage will help as dwarf hamsters like sand and will pee and leave poo in the sand, so it`s easily seen.
It`s good to hear that he`s eating/drinking and trying to act normally, but the staggered walking doesn`t sound quite right. If he`s always did this, then it could be seen as neurological, but if his falling to the side has only happened over the past day or two, I would be inclined to associate that with what`s going on.

Re: my poor little hammy
all i can do is watch him for now all the vets near me are closed and it got really stressed over the last visit to the vet! its sleeping at the minute but when it wakes and goes to eat ill check its bottom again!
i may be a wishful thinker but over the past couple of days its looked on deaths door but it is up and about acting more like itself apart from the falling over
im hoping its due to the fact its weak after being unwell!
but i will keep you up to date with what happens
on a lighter note here is a picture of them

Re: my poor little hammy
Ah, they are little robos! I have a single male and adore him. As I was saying earlier, the falling or unbalancing could be due to what`s been going on inside him, but hopefully with rest and monitoring from yourself, he might come back to normal over the next 24 hours. Lets hope so, fingers crossed. Are they Pets AT Home robos or were they rescues? My little guy was a rescue, well....more of a rehome than a rescue case, but robos are such characters. Do keep us posted.

Re: my poor little hammy
They are lovely little ones, I hope you come join us in the robo section.
I'll have everything crossed he makes a full recovery, take him to the vet as soon as possible as he'll need to be looked at with the information you now have about what has happened. In the mean time do ask on here or pm if you have any more questions.

Re: my poor little hammy
oh no, poor Yumbledorf. may he rest in peace. but now you know the dangers of cotton wool bedding! I hope you've already removed the fluffy bedding so your other robo won't go the same way?
