Default Blind?

Hi,

I'm looking for any advice or guidance you can give me really, yesterday I accidentally adopted a hamster from p@h. I only went in to pick up some sawdust, but these things happen!

She's lovely, totally bonkers and has already made a couple of escape attemps, so I think she's settled in well. However, a few things have made us question if she can see. First of all, she doesn't seem to notice if you put your hand in her box, or move things. She seems to bump quite a lot too. I guess part of it is just a hunch as well.

I know hamsters dont have great sight anyway, but is there any way for us to tell if she can see *anything*? And if she cant, is there anything we can do to help her?

Thanks in advance!

If she can't, you just need to make sure you speak so she knows your there and keep her cage layout the same e.t.c.
Any changes will upset her a lot more than they will a ham who can see.

Not sure on testing for sight though I'm afraid.

I think a vet may be able to shed light on wether she is blind or not. But as said above keeping the layout the same and letting her know you are there so nothing spookes her.
