I cant believe it. Kiki is sick!

I cant believe now my poor Kiki is sick

Two weeks ago i noticed she had a little bit of compacted poo round her bottom which looked like she was a little constipated. So i fed her a few more extra vegs and the next night all back to normal. I put it down to the extra meal worms i had given her.

Well tonight when we got home there was a horrible smell coming from Kiki. I picked her up...and im sorry Kiki the smell was so bad it made me retch. Then noticed it coming out of her bottom all over my hand....i had wiped her up and it is horrible. This time i think its coming more from her bottom which is even more worrying as i know this could be a sign of a tumor

Since we got her she has always been a very smelly hamster. As she was never showing any signs of illness i was told not to worry.

So back of the vets i go. I cant believe this has happened the day after i lost Bella

Oh no I'm so sorry Mandy!! You've been through so much lately and now to find Kiki isn't too well on top of losing Bella.
I really do hope the vets can help her,please keep us posted xxx

I know i cant believe it. Just had a better look at her and omg it is horrible. I manged to clean more of the puss up and looks like a little blood in it as well. I can make out what i thought was poo is actual fact dark fur, not too sure if the puss etc has made it look darker but i have a horrible feeling it is a womb infection......;(

Oh, poor you and poor Kiki! I really do hope the vet can get this under control soon, you have had such a lot of worry lately, I'm so sorry. Will send Kiki lots of healing thoughts and keep fingers crossed for her x

well she is 18 months old so not too sure if op is best or try anti biotics and galastop. The galastop works in cats and dogs......i hate animals getting sick

Oh no Mandy I'm sorry to hear Kiki is ill. Darcey just came through her spay well and she's 19 months now. If it is a womb infection an she's still strong an well in herself then you could consider the op. hope she's ok xxx

Well i am hoping it is her womb and i think she should do ok with an op, she is currently climbing around but off her food abit. She ate half a bit of cucumber and dumped the rest so at least she has a bit of fluid going in x If you dont mind me asking how much was the op? X

It cost me £57 which I think is quite reasonable. Some vets don't distinguish between small hamsters and other animals though and charge more- it depends on the vet. Darcey was on antibs for a week before op. hope it goes ok at the vets when you get there xx
