I will be thinking of you tomorrow, I would just let her be comfortable and not disturb her by trying to clean her up.. I hope its just a case of a few days of medication and it's just a small infection.

I'm sorry to say it sounds like a pyometra. The sooner she is seen the better. Get her started on antibiotics in a strong dosage and if she is still youngish consider an op to spay her and remove the infected womb. Only you can decide if she is fit enough to stand the operation. Most hamsters get some remission with antibiotics and Vectis hamsters Genta got a longer remission with the drug Galastop aslo which may be worth asking about if you don't want to operate. I'm sure she would offer further advice if you PM her and ask after you have seen the vet. Don't handle her too much so as not to squeeze her tummy in any way. Wipe gently if she is very messy to try and prevent her licking too much at the discharge as this can make them feel iller.

Bella went to the vet today. She had just started to pass blood so the infection has only just started. There was no blood in her cage this morning so i think i have been lucky and caught it early. She has had an injection of antibiotics and then i have to carry of syringe feed her antibiotics for 2 weeks. Hopefully it will go but if it doesn't she had to go back. They said we could spay her but as she is 2 they are not too keen.

Any tips on how to give her the medication with out stressing her out?

Hmmm not had any experience with giving a ham meds frm a shringe,what I'd probably do is get her out on my lap and maybe get a bit of baby food on a spoon and then when she's had a little,then offer her the shringe and see of she will take it?!

We use the swaddling technique. Get a small face flannel and wrap her in it firmly so just her head sticks out the pop the syringe in the side of her mouth with the meds.
Similar to this but putting in the mouth instead of the eye drops

I will give that ago. She has eaten a meal worm tonight a little bit of runner bean so she must be feeling a little better. She didnt eat anything last night apart from a little bit of carrott
