Default Flakey skin!

Last night I saw Mckenzie scratching himself everywhere, I thought and checked for flees straight away. When I looked I didnt see flees but loads of flakey skin. I bathed him last night with a littke bit of this baby bath stuff. I was just wondering is there anything els I can try to help his skin condition.
Thanks

Have you taken him to the vet to find out what is wrong?

If it`s a sudden thing, it could be something he`s came into contact with, mites/lice or age even related if he`s older. You won`t see mites as they are microscopic and usually cause scabbing around the face, neck and upper shoulder areas from constant scratching. Flakey skin could be fungal or diet related.

I`m not sure if bathing him in baby bath is wise before determining the actual cause. Your vet would prescribe a better shampoo for skin conditions in hamsters if they feel it`s needed. Vitamin E deficiency can cause skin issues in hamsters, but from what you describe, he was itching all over? How is he today has he stopped scratching?
