Another hamster giving us false alarms today! So what was the yellow topped thing? Was it his testicles developing? Glad to hear he is fine though.
What age is the wee fella now?

So when checking him again i swear this bubble bit had gotten a tad bigger again.. oh and just to clarify that his testies were already developed for a while... Its still yellow and even though she said it was fine that it was his willy bit.. he's lively etc but i dont know. i can try and get a photo but the best way to explain is like a thick blister. she also said it could be heat but i dont know if males can have heat?

I was doubtful to be honest because males are pretty much developed at 8 weeks or so!
Males don't have heat periods however I suspect she meant it was the heat (temperature) that was making his testicles drop down and sort of push though the skin a bit. This is quite normal and can look alarming as they are mobile and look like peanuts stuck under there sometimes!
The penis should not be visible and this is quite far from the testicles so there should be no lumps or yellow bits near the 'willy'!

He was wriggling so much i tried to take photos with the constant frame shot but it doesnt look as yellow or red in real life as it does in the photo. Its more paler than that.

His little `button` looks okay to me. He`s a chinese right? I`m going by the tail and the baggage he has at the back! The two pink `balls` right at the back are his testicles swelling due to being warm. Male mice balls do the same when they are warm. His little penis just looks pink and normal though. You will also notice he has a central vent (scent gland on his tummy) and one on either hip. They appear as little `dots` on each side. Chinese hamsters have three scent glands.

That does not look normal to me. My male Chinese looks nothing like that under there. I'm going to ask Vectis to take a look as she breeds Chinese.
It isn't part of his testicles but looks to be a small swelling near is penis.
